The largest American city on the Mexican frontier can be found on the western tip of Texas. Known for its deserts, rich culture, and numerous historical sites, El Paso has plenty to offer to its residents and visitors.

El Paso Zoo

A fun-filled day for all involved can be spent at the zoo. With animals from all over the world this zoo has hundreds of different species to view and learn about. You can also see animals such as monkeys, sea lions, and more up close during the special events that the zoo holds throughout the day. Just check the schedule when you arrive to make sure you don’t miss any exciting shows.

Franklin Mountains State Park

If you’re looking to explore the nature of Texas, you can be sure to do that here. Spanning over about 40 square miles with more than 100 miles of trail, Franklin Mountains State Park is the perfect place for an avid hiker, biker, or rock climber. However, those are not the only activities you can accomplish here. They also offer overnight camping, geocaches, picnic areas, and there are plenty of areas to bird watch.

Plaza Theatre

Those interested in learning more about the musical past of El Paso, you’ll want to head to downtown El Paso. The Plaza Theatre was built and designed in Spanish Colonial times so there are plenty of mosaic-tiled floors, antiques, and other handcrafted architecture to view throughout. The Plaza today now functions as the perfect venue for top-selling country artists, Broadway performances, and more.

Centennial Museum and Chihuahuan Desert Gardens

Located on the campus of the University of Texas at El Paso, you can find over 800 species of native plants and water conservation exhibits. While on campus, you can also stop at the Centennial Museum where you can be fascinated by the cultural history of Mexico and the Southwest. Displays include multiple facets of archeology, geology, and even paleontology.

Various Vineyards

Multiple vineyards can also be found throughout El Paso. Take the time to go for a wine tasting and appreciate the multiple complexities that El Paso has to offer in their selections. If you are looking for a lifetime experience, you’ll want to contact the Miller Horse Farm as they offer wine tours by horseback. You won’t want to miss the opportunity to ride along different vineyards and fields while having a few sips of wine here and there.

After exploring all that El Paso has to offer, you may be considering calling this city home.El Paso houses for sale are beautiful and readily available for you to walk through once you’re ready to make the next step.
